Japanese Guitar Company started as a hobby for founder Ron Denoo. During his frequent travels to Japan he loved to search for rare and wonderful Japanese guitars. He quickly filled his house with these treasures and in order to make room for more successful “treasure hunts” he decided to start selling some of them for others to enjoy. That was over a decade ago and over the years he has built some great relationships with sources in Japan to keep a steady stream of amazing instruments flowing into the hands of new owners around the world!

Starting in 2026, David Geders, founder of Copper Chord Music, has taken over operations and his vision is to take the company to the next level. With Japanese Guitar Company now open to the public, the plan is to continue to increase the amount of inventory and to make the shop a destination point for Japanese Guitar lovers!

Nearly all of our guitars are sourced directly in Japan, inspected and cleaned by our technicians, sold at competitive prices and backed up by service that you only get from from a small family-owned business.
