1960s Concert “Quality Guitar” MIJ Offset – Gold Foil Pickups – Project – Missing Bridge
Here’s a cool and vibey mid-1960s Japanese-made Concert “Quality Guitar” offset electric.
These were part of the Teisco/Kawai-era wave of quirky, creative MIJ guitars and this one has a lot going for it — including a pair of original gold foil pickups that are both passing signal.
That said, this is being sold as a project guitar.
What’s good:
Original gold foil pickups (both passing signal)
Original tuners
Original knobs, switches, pickguard, and vibrato tailpiece
Neck appears straight
Killer vintage patina throughout
What it needs:
Bridge is missing
No strings currently installed
Electronics pass signal but have not been fully tested under string tension — may need cleaning/service
General cosmetic wear throughout (chips, finish loss, edge wear, etc. as shown)
The body shows honest vintage wear with plenty of character. The pickups are the highlight here — these old gold foils have a unique, chimey voice that people chase.
This would make a fantastic restoration project, mod platform, or parts donor depending on your vision.
Includes gig bag.
Please review all photos carefully. Sold as-is due to project condition.
Case: Gig Bag
Scale Length: 24.5“
Nut Width: 1.64“
Fret Wear: 9.5/10
Weight: 7lbs 8oz
Overall Condition: 6/10
