Here’s a killer vintage Yamaha SG500 made in Japan, finished in black with cream binding and classic Yamaha double-cut styling. These are super underrated guitars from Yamaha’s golden era—set neck, solid feel, and great sounding humbuckers.
This one has a really cool look with the large block-style inlays and open-book style headstock with the dove inlay. Original Yamaha tuners, knobs, and hardware all appear to be intact. Pickups show some typical aging but function as they should.
Condition-wise, it’s in good player-grade shape. There are noticeable scratches and scuffs on the back and some light cosmetic wear throughout (as shown), but nothing structural. Neck looks straight, frets have life left, and it plays well.
Great option if you’re looking for a vintage MIJ alternative to a Gibson-style guitar with its own vibe.
