Kuniyoshi Matsui M-12 Classical Guitar – Handbuilt in Japan – Solid Top – Original Case

$1,295.00

This is a Kuniyoshi Matsui M-12 classical guitar, made in Tokyo, Japan. Matsui was a respected Japanese luthier, and these guitars are known for being very traditionally built, lightly braced, and responsive.

The guitar has a solid spruce top with rosewood back and sides. The top shows even grain and good aging, and the body has that warm, open tone you expect from a well-seasoned classical. The neck profile is comfortable and traditional, paired with a dark fingerboard and quality fretwork. Tuners are gold classical machines and function as they should.

This one is structurally solid. No cracks observed. The bridge is clean with no gap issues. Action is playable for a classical and in line with what you’d expect for a guitar of this era. Cosmetically, there are light signs of age and handling, but nothing out of the ordinary — overall very well kept.

The original hard case is included.

This is a great example of mid-to-upper tier Japanese classical guitar building, and a solid option for someone looking for a vintage classical with character rather than a modern factory instrument.
