Vintage Japanese Classical Guitar – Suzuki / Nagano-Built – Made in Japan – 1960s MIJ Nylon – w/ Hard Case
This is a vintage Japanese classical guitar, made in Japan and attributed to the Kiso Suzuki Violin Co., Ltd. / Nagano builder network based on construction details and the original interior factory insert.
Inside the guitar is an original Japanese factory paper insert, which is still partially intact. This insert is not a model label, but a period-correct inspection / handling notice, commonly used by Japanese guitar factories in the 1950s–1960s. The wording references factory inspection, proper handling, and care related to humidity and temperature — all consistent with post-war Japanese classical production.
A violin-style Suzuki label had been added later in the guitar’s life and has since been removed. With that label gone, what remains is the correct original insert, which better reflects the guitar’s true origin and age.
Construction is traditional for the period:
Spruce top
Dark hardwood back and sides (rosewood or similar)
Slotted headstock with vintage open-gear tuners
Traditional fan-braced classical build
The neck is straight, frets are in good shape, and it plays evenly up the neck. Tone is warm and balanced with good clarity, leaning more toward a mature, traditional classical sound rather than a beginner instrument.
Cosmetically, the guitar is in good vintage condition, showing normal wear for its age but no major cracks or structural issues noted. It feels solid and well built throughout.
Includes a vintage hard shell case, which shows cosmetic wear but fits properly and is fully functional.
This is being listed honestly as a Suzuki/Nagano-built Japanese classical without a confirmed model number, priced accordingly.
