Yamaha FG-252 Nippon Gakki MIJ Acoustic Guitar
Here’s a really clean Yamaha FG-252 from the Nippon Gakki era, made in Japan. These are known for being solid, dependable vintage acoustics with that classic Yamaha balance—clear top end with a warm, focused low end.
This one has just been cleaned up, restrung, and is ready to go. It plays well as-is, though the action is currently on the higher side, measuring 8/64" on the low E and 6/64" on the high E at the 12th fret. There is still a bit of saddle height left, so you could likely bring it down another ~1/64" if you wanted to lower it slightly.
Cosmetically, it presents nicely with a great-looking straight grain top and attractive dark-stained back and sides. There are light signs of use throughout—some surface wear and minor marks consistent with age—but nothing out of the ordinary for a vintage piece. Hardware shows some typical oxidation. Structurally solid.
Tone-wise, it’s exactly what you’d hope for—punchy, articulate, and a great strummer. Would make a solid player-grade vintage acoustic or a dependable everyday guitar.
Includes the original-style chipboard case.
