Yamaha L-5 Japan Acoustic Guitar
For sale is a Yamaha L-5 Japan Acoustic Guitar in Very Good Condition!
Just cleaned, restrung and set up with nice and low action!
Some of Yamaha’s L-series guitars are among the most sought-after vintage Yamaha instruments. The entire series is considered to be of very high quality. Introduced in 1975 for the Japanese domestic market, the L-5 was one of the early models in the lineup. The L-5 features a spruce top with laminated rosewood back and sides, an ebony fingerboard and bridge (changing to rosewood in 1979). Around 1985, production of most L-series models ceased. From 1975 through the mid-1980s, the L-series guitars were handmade in Japan for the domestic market.
The headstock features a rosewood veneer with a mahogany back and a rosewood truss rod cover. The binding is in very good condition, with some light discoloration caused by outgassing. The tuners are gold, stamped “Yamaha Japan,” and function properly.
The mahogany neck has a soft V profile and a very good neck angle. The rosewood fretboard features pearl inlays and a 25.5-inch scale length. The single-action truss rod functions as it should. The binding remains in very good condition but shows some discoloration from outgassing. The finish on the back of the neck is discolored in a few areas and has a few small dents.
