Yamaki YW-40 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar MIJ w/ Hard Case – Vintage 1970s
Up for sale is a vintage Yamaki YW-40 dreadnought acoustic guitar, Made in Japan.
This is a great example of the quality coming out of Japan during the 1970s lawsuit-era boom. The YW-40 features a classic dreadnought body with a natural gloss top, multi-ply binding, rosewood back and sides, and attractive headstock inlay. The guitar presents very clean overall with honest light playwear consistent with age.
Cosmetics & Condition:
Very clean top with minimal visible wear
Back and sides show light surface marks typical of vintage instruments
Neck appears straight
Hardware in good shape
Includes original-style hard shell case
From the photos, this guitar appears structurally solid and well cared for. As with any vintage acoustic, a full setup to personal preference may be desired.
These Yamaki dreadnoughts are known for strong projection, articulate highs, and a balanced low end — great for flatpicking, strumming, or singer-songwriter work.
