Yamaki YW-60 12-String Acoustic Guitar MIJ 1970s w/ OHSC – Solid Top – Japan
Here’s a beautiful vintage Yamaki YW-60 12-string, made in Japan during the golden era of MIJ acoustics. These higher-end Yamakis were serious instruments, and the YW-60 sits well above the entry-level models in both materials and appointments.
This one features:
Solid spruce top
Striking rosewood back and sides
Multi-ply binding with decorative purfling
Abalone-style position markers
Bound neck and headstock
Original open-gear tuners
Original hardshell case
The tone is exactly what you want from a vintage Japanese 12-string — full, piano-like low end with that shimmering top-end chime. It has great projection and depth while still retaining clarity across all 12 strings.
Condition
This guitar is in very good vintage condition.
Honest cosmetic wear throughout (small dings, scratches, typical for its age)
Back shows some light surface scratches
Hardware shows normal aging
Bridge is solid and secure; however, there is a very small visible gap between the back edge of the bridge and the top. It is stable as it sits, but worth noting for full transparency.
Structurally it is solid, and it plays well as-is.
The original hardshell case is included and fits properly.
If you’re looking for a true 1970s Japanese 12-string with high-end trim and big vintage tone, this YW-60 is a strong example.
